Rev 22:6  And he said unto me, These words are faithful and true: and the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, sent his angels to show unto his servants the things which must shortly come to pass.

Rev 22:7  And behold, I come quickly. Blessed is he that keepeth the words of the prophecy of this book.

To keep these words, to keep them within Holy Writ is one aspect and to obey them is another. In the letters to the churches there is much said about spiritual conditions and what He expects of His own. It is also keeping to read this book and to pray about its content regularly especially in light of things as they are today.

Rev 22:8  And I John am he that heard and saw these things. And when I heard and saw, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel that showed me these things.

Rev 22:9  And he saith unto me, See thou do it not: I am a fellow-servant with thee and with thy brethren the prophets, and with them that keep the words of this book: worship God.

Rev 22:10  And he saith unto me, Seal not up the words of the prophecy of this book; for the time is at hand.

Rev 22:11  He that is unrighteous, let him do unrighteousness still: and he that is filthy, let him be made filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him do righteousness still: and he that is holy, let him be made holy still.

In Daniel we read at the end of it these words.

Dan 12:4  But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

Now we read that John is NOT to seal this book.  We have through this study seen the intertwining of both Daniel and Revelation. We also know that time is different between us and God.

2Pe 3:8  But forget not this one thing, beloved, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

2Pe 3:9  The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some count slackness; but is longsuffering to you-ward, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

He may perhaps come on the Third Day but for us from the time of His ascension it would pass as at least three thousand years.  In this time the growth of souls added to the church has been great but here at the twenty first century the great falling away has been in some swing for some time.  For indeed you cannot love the “world system” and love the LAMB. They are incompatible.

Rev 22:12  Behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to render to each man according as his work is.

This statement is the benchmark of God’s thought.  In the Old and New Testaments He says this.

Isa 59:18  According to their deeds, accordingly he will repay, wrath to his adversaries, recompense to his enemies; to the islands he will repay recompense.

Jer 25:14  For many nations and great kings shall make bondmen of them, even of them; and I will recompense them according to their deeds, and according to the work of their hands.

In the New Testament He says:

Rom 2:6  who will render to every man according to his works:

Rom 2:7  to them that by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and incorruption, eternal life:

Rom 2:8  but unto them that are factious, and obey not the truth, but obey unrighteousness, shall be wrath and indignation,

Rom 2:9  tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that worketh evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Greek;

Rom 2:10  but glory and honor and peace to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek:

Rom 2:11  for there is no respect of persons with God.

In light of this statement we all ought to be considering our ways and whether or not we have put Christ and His Kingdom and righteousness first and lived in accordance with His will or not.  Now is the hour to make things right.

Rev 22:13  I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.

Rev 22:14  Blessed are they that wash their robes, that they may have the right to come to the tree of life, and may enter in by the gates into the city.

This washing of the robes is not only in martyrdom but in the Blood of Jesus in salvation and obedience to His will and trusting for the end redemption of the body and the life.

Rev 22:15  Without are the dogs, and the sorcerers, and the fornicators, and the murderers, and the idolaters, and every one that loveth and maketh a lie.

Notice that the presence of sin has not left.  But we are in the city and they are not and are not allowed.  Now I have no answer for this.  However we see that He removes us from the dominion of sin and removes from us the ravages and stains of sins, in our hearts and minds that have been renewed by the washing of water with the Word and finally our bodies are redeemed and we are removed from the presence of sin entirely.  But without that place where God chooses to have a sinless environ, sin remains, or so it would seem.

Rev 22:16  I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things for the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, the bright, the morning star.

All through this book we have seen the various aspects of Who Jesus is.   This is a direct correlation to Isaiah.  Isa 11:10  And it shall come to pass in that day, that the root of Jesse, that standeth for an ensign of the peoples, unto him shall the nations seek; and his resting-place shall be glorious.

Rev 22:17  And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And he that heareth, let him say, Come. And he that is athirst, let him come: he that will, let him take the water of life freely.

Rev 22:18  I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, if any man shall add unto them, God shall add unto him the plagues which are written in this book:

Rev 22:19  and if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the tree of life, and out of the holy city, which are written in this book.

This is a warning to the scribes.  In this time letters like these were copied over and over again and this solemn warning ensures the entirety of the document and its contents.  But in keeping to this, I am doing my best to cover the whole book in these blogs.   I would recommend others that take on this book observe to do so as well.

Rev 22:20  He who testifieth these things saith, Yea: I come quickly. Amen: come, Lord Jesus.

Rev 22:21  The grace of the Lord Jesus be with the saints. Amen.

Now I had decided it best to finish in this manner by wrapping around from the closing of the book back to its opening.  Because we see Jesus and who He is in both parts.

Rev 1:1  The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show unto his servants, even the things which must shortly come to pass: and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John;

Rev 1:2  who bare witness of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, even of all things that he saw.

Rev 1:3  Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of the prophecy, and keep the things that are written therein: for the time is at hand.

Here again is the blessing conferred to those who read and keep what is written as in keeping in mind that this is the last chapter and the culmination of how we come into our inheritance.  In the Gospels so much was said about the inheritance of the Kingdom and we who serve being good servants that we might enter into the Joy of our LORD.  In writing that the time was “at hand” many over the years have considered that the events would take place in a very short few years.  Unfortunately we have missed the point that it is from God’s perspective and not ours that this “time is at hand”.  When Christ entered into time and space as the Word made flesh the End Days countdown began.  Now which is the exact moment of time where in God the Father sets the start point is not known.  It is not to be known for the whole point is the attitudinal change of the heart, and the idea of consistency for the whole of the life lived on this Earth. Because we do NOT know the exact day we must stay vigilant. We do understand that like a thief in the night the time of these events will suddenly come.  Right now this writer is facing financial distresses that have her quite perplexed even somewhat upset. But if I for one moment think this is bad, I must concede that the events to come are far worse than I could ever imagine and people are still alive even in the midst of all that!  But we are to be found serving in obedience to whatever the Lord has us at task doing.  Consider that a thief in the night is not announcing or calling ahead but is sneaking in subtly and quietly with no fanfare.  So then vigilance to watch in the dark is needed if one suspects a thief may come. Moreover as I have mentioned earlier what is but one day to God is one thousand years to us.  So for God shortly is just that… shortly, but for us the generations drag on by.  We lose sight of it and should long for the day of our inheritance to come.  This is the blessing of reading this book.  It reminds us that He will come again and He will remember us and the PROMISE of the Glorification of the body and resurrection of the dead will come.  The blessing is the strengthening of hope and the relighting of a fire to do His will while we yet live.

Rev 1:4  John to the seven churches that are in Asia: Grace to you and peace, from him who is and who was and who is to come; and from the seven Spirits that are before his throne;

Rev 1:5  and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loveth us, and loosed us from our sins by his blood;

Rev 1:6  and he made us to be a kingdom, to be priests unto his God and Father; to him be the glory and the dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Rev 1:7  Behold, he cometh with the clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they that pierced him; and all the tribes of the earth shall mourn over him. Even so, Amen.

Here we see evidence of the Trinity.  The Seven Spirits before God are also spoken of in Isaiah by name.

Isa 11:2  And the Spirit of Jehovah shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of Jehovah.

Each of these is the aspect of the Holy Spirit who is apparently seen as seven spirits before God.  We know that things in heaven are not the same as on Earth.

We have the mention of the Father whose priests the Son has made us to be.  Also we see in this book what Paul talked about in His epistles that Jesus would come again with the clouds.

1Th 4:16  For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven, with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first;

1Th 4:17  then we that are alive, that are left, shall together with them be caught up in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Rev 1:8  I am the Alpha and the Omega, saith the Lord God, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.

Rev 1:9  I John, your brother and partaker with you in tribulation and kingdom and patience which are in Jesus, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.

Here is the story as it unfolds as to how John the Apostle acquires the vision.  Note that this is the only vision that is actually accepted in the New Testament as part of the Canon of Scripture. Based on the long standing understanding of the works of the Prophets of the Old Testament this book was allowed to remain within canon to this day.

Rev 1:10  I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and I heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet

Note that it came in the time of worship.  John was in worship …. In the Spirit on the Day the Lord set aside for worship.

Rev 1:11  saying, What thou seest, write in a book and send it to the seven churches: unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamum, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.

Rev 1:12  And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And having turned I saw seven golden candlesticks;

Rev 1:13  and in the midst of the candlesticks one like unto a son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about at the breasts with a golden girdle.

Rev 1:14  And his head and his hair were white as white wool, white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;

Rev 1:15  and his feet like unto burnished brass, as if it had been refined in a furnace; and his voice as the voice of many waters.

(This is still talking about one person and that is Jesus.)

Rev 1:16  And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth proceeded a sharp two-edged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.

Rev 1:17  And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as one dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying, Fear not; I am the first and the last,

Rev 1:18  and the Living one; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive for evermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades.

Rev 1:19  Write therefore the things which thou sawest, and the things which are, and the things which shall come to pass hereafter;

Rev 1:20  the mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks are seven churches.

This is the revelation of Jesus as He is now.  In all this time He is still in this manner and we find evidence of it in Daniel. But this may not be the same person.

Dan 7:9  I beheld till thrones were placed, and one that was ancient of days did sit: his raiment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like pure wool; his throne was fiery flames, and the wheels thereof burning fire.

Dan 7:10  A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousands of thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.

This is not Jesus but The Father.  This is the great white throne judgment of the dead in sin. We found this in the twentieth chapter of Revelation.

But this is the LAMB

Dan 7:13  I saw in the night-visions, and, behold, there came with the clouds of heaven one like unto a son of man, and he came even to the ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.

Dan 7:14  And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all the peoples, nations, and languages should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.

I am struck by that the Ancient of Days in Daniel has the same look as the “one like unto a son of man” does in John’s revelation.

How is this possible?   I am immediately drawn to Jesus and Hebrews.

When asked to see the Father what did Jesus say? Joh 14:9  Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and dost thou not know me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; how sayest thou, Show us the Father?

In Hebrews of Jesus it says: Heb 1:3  who being the effulgence of his glory, and the very image of his substance, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had made purification of sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

In this book we see the Revelation of Jesus as Lord of the Church as Lord of Lords as the King of the Kings of the Earth. He who will come and repay the evil that has been done to His own, Himself.  We see the pattern through which it will take place.  We see that He is control of every part of this and should in our personal lives, as this writer is struggling to do right now, that He is ultimately in control of our lives as we yield to and listen to and obey Him, He will lead us.  We will live and not die.

dead, death, earth, fire, hades, lake, second death

Rev 20:13  And the sea gave up the dead that were in it; and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

Rev 20:14  And death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death, even the lake of fire.

Rev 20:15  And if any was not found written in the book of life, he was cast into the lake of fire.

Ok here is something I bet none of us ever considered.  Look at verse 14, death and hades are cast into the lake of fire.  When we think of death, we think of cessation of bodily function as in the heart arrests and stops and the lungs fail and cease to bring in the oxygen we so desperately need for physical continuance in the physical plane or the world around us. The eyes close the final exhalation and the brain madly scrambles to perhaps restart things or run the video of your life before your eyes, and you … die.  But God sees this form of death as a pause and discontinuance of the life in the flesh; never forget Jesus experienced this process first hand.  He experienced it in perhaps one of the most gruesome manners ever, Roman crucifixion. Now Jesus being fully God as if He were no man AND fully man as if He were not God is His own conundrum of existence, He being God in flesh had a “deathless life” He actually had to permit Himself to be torn apart with whips and bruised with impacts and pierced with nails and allowed to let go of that which made His body function even under such strain.  It is said that the true cause of death may very well be a “broken heart” in that the strain may have actually ruptured His heart.  If He keeps all things by the Word of His power and those things are the universe around us how hard do you think it is for Him to keep alive despite all the major damage until the precise moment when the wrath of the Father had fully spent itself and that is another thing altogether in that this wrath He took and took and took until there was no more to take must have had an impact on Him physically.  Thus once the task of redemption ransom expiation propitiation atonement and fulfillment of His own law was complete His purpose for remaining was over and He committed His spirit to the Father.  But having died on one day and being entombed the next and over the night part of the third (Jewish days run sundown to sundown so they start at night) such that as the sun rose perhaps during what we would call the morning watch part of the third day, Jesus body not only is restored to full function but that void of decay and somehow it slips it bindings.  It is said that the thing which made the disciples believe was that the wrappings of the body from the neck down were INTACT or still as if wrapped around something but the something was missing.  The napkin over the face is what was tampered with in a manner that suggested the occupant was finished with His occupancy. At least that is one theory put forth of the facial napkin and the other may be that it was not tampered with at all and simply lay as if it had been covering something that sunk beneath it and was gone.  Either way it was its own mystery until He showed up in a locked upper chamber of someone’s home.  Is it not interesting that the gospels don’t record that the owner of the house below the locked upper room never saw Him at all?  So the way we view death is not the way God views death.  Also if you go back to the passage in Revelation that talks about the prophetess Jezebel, Jesus speaks of killing her children WITH DEATH.  It would appear that to God Death and Hades are entities which might also be places but all this goes into one lake that burns eternally.  A lake of fire with brimstone is only place… where the lava is constantly molten.

Rev 21:1  And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth are passed away; and the sea is no more.

Now there are passages all over scripture that allude to this verse.

2Pe 3:5  For this they willfully forget, that there were heavens from of old, and an earth compacted out of water and amidst water, by the word of God;

2Pe 3:6  by which means the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:

2Pe 3:7  but the heavens that now are, and the earth, by the same word have been stored up for fire, being reserved against the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.

2Pe 3:10  But the day of the Lord will come as a thief; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall be dissolved with fervent heat, and the earth and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

2Pe 3:11  Seeing that these things are thus all to be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy living and godliness,

2Pe 3:12  looking for and earnestly desiring the coming of the day of God, by reason of which the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

Mat 5:18  For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass away from the law, till all things be accomplished.

Mar_13:31  Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

Luk_21:33  Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

Heb 1:10  And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning didst lay the foundation of the earth, And the heavens are the works of thy hands:

Heb 1:11  They shall perish; but thou continuest: And they all shall wax old as doth a garment;

Heb 1:12  And as a mantle shalt thou roll them up, As a garment, and they shall be changed: But thou art the same, And thy years shall not fail.

In fact this is even referenced to in the Old Testament.

Psa 102:25  Of old didst thou lay the foundation of the earth; And the heavens are the work of thy hands.

Psa 102:26  They shall perish, but thou shalt endure; Yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; As a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed:

Psa 102:27  But thou art the same, And thy years shall have no end.

Isa 34:1  Come near, ye nations, to hear; and hearken, ye peoples: let the earth hear, and the fulness thereof; the world, and all things that come forth from it.

Isa 34:2  For Jehovah hath indignation against all the nations, and wrath against all their host: he hath utterly destroyed them, he hath delivered them to the slaughter.

Isa 34:3  Their slain also shall be cast out, and the stench of their dead bodies shall come up; and the mountains shall be melted with their blood.

Isa 34:4  And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll; and all their host shall fade away, as the leaf fadeth from off the vine, and as a fading leaf from the fig-tree.

Isa 34:5  For my sword hath drunk its fill in heaven: behold, it shall come down upon Edom, and upon the people of my curse, to judgment.

Isa 34:6  The sword of Jehovah is filled with blood, it is made fat with fatness, with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams; for Jehovah hath a sacrifice in Bozrah, and a great slaughter in the land of Edom.

Now verse four is what we are looking at but I chose the passage because it also speaks of the last major battle before the second death.

In each verse we find the old being “rolled up” or gathered up or burned up and being destroyed and disposed of, which means our monuments and legacies will go with them, so much for enduring testimonies of men.

(Rev 21:1  And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth are passed away; and the sea is no more. )  So we have NEW GENESIS, God has created again.  Recall that He has told us He will make all things … new?

But lets go on.

Rev 21:2  And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband.

Now it may seem as though this is   It is a ready-made place and in today’s thought of building and construction one might say it is “modular” and they would be correct.  This is a complete ready to go assembly that will be placed on a massive piece of real estate.  What we need to remember here is that the maps of the Earth as we know it with its seas do NOT exist now.  So the land masses are different which means the national boundaries are different.  This then gives credence to certain passages of the Old Testament.

Isa 11:16  And there shall be an highway for the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria; like as it was to Israel in the day that he came up out of the land of Egypt.

Isa 19:23  In that day shall there be a highway out of Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians shall serve with the Assyrians.

Isa 19:24  In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, even a blessing in the midst of the land:

Isa 19:25  Whom the LORD of hosts shall bless, saying, Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel mine inheritance.

Isa 35:8  And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein.

I cannot at present locate the passage I want but it talks about there being land set aside and sparely inhabited all throughout the Palestinian lands ( I think) It is a massive foot print.

Rev 21:3  And I heard a great voice out of the throne saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he shall dwell with them, and they shall be his peoples, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God:

This is Temple, the Greek word of Tabernacle is a tent or a gathering place as it were, but this place is where the Living God will now once again be among humanity but as King of the Nations and those who are not fearful, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sorcerers, idolaters, or liars, these do not inherit the Kingdom because this is the Kingdom fully manifest.  Here there will be no sorrow no tears no pain no sickness no evil, in the presence of This King no sadness or darkness will be. Because Jesus will remove all the reasons of the heart and circumstances for it.

Rev 21:4  and he shall wipe away every tear from their eyes; and death shall be no more; neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain, any more: the first things are passed away.

Rev 21:5  And he that sitteth on the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he saith, Write: for these words are faithful and true.

Rev 21:6  And he said unto me, They are come to pass. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

Rev 21:7  He that overcometh shall inherit these things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

He who over comes….  This references the first three chapter so the book which I shall cover.

Rev 19:11  And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

Rev 19:12  His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.

Rev 19:13  And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

Here you go.  This is the Revelation, this whole book has been penned to house.  In the very first chapter of Revelation we saw this personage.  Rev 1:12  And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks;

Rev 1:13  And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.

Rev 1:14  His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;

Rev 1:15  And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.

Rev 1:16  And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.

Compare that to the figure mounted astride and riding forth.  In the first chapter there is the garment and wrapped around the “breast” or pectoral area, I suppose, would be the golden girdle or sash.  Don’t forget this is not just a king but He is also HIGH PRIEST.  Here nineteen chapters and much drama later, He is clothed in a garment “dipped in blood”.  Stop right there.  When we think dipped what do we think?  KitKat bars have this running drama in advertisements about the two factories and that one DIPS and the other CLOAKS and its two entirely different processes?  Either way the cookie wafer portion is COVERED in chocolate.  But what does the Greek think about “dipped”? Well this is surprising.

Strongs # 911 baptō. A primary verb; to whelm, that is, cover wholly with a fluid; in the New Testament only in a qualified or specific sense, that is, (literally) to moisten (a part of one’s person), or (by implication) to stain (as with dye): – dip.

To cover completely to stain…where have we heard this before?  Isaiah 63:1-6.  Isa 63:1 Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, marching in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save.

Isa 63:2  Wherefore art thou red in thine apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth in the winevat?

Isa 63:3  I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the peoples there was no man with me: yea, I trod them in mine anger, and trampled them in my wrath; and their lifeblood is sprinkled upon my garments, and I have stained all my raiment.

Isa 63:4  For the day of vengeance was in my heart, and the year of my redeemed is come.

Isa 63:5  And I looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered that there was none to uphold: therefore mine own arm brought salvation unto me; and my wrath, it upheld me.

Isa 63:6  And I trod down the peoples in mine anger, and made them drunk in my wrath, and I poured out their lifeblood on the earth.

This concept of “sprinkling” or “staining”, is best illustrated with those who tread grapes. If you have ever looked at grape “dancers”, they are whatever color the vintage is from like the knees down at least and grape juice is the sort of thing that is hard to wash out of garments and off of skin.  People who do this for a living really stand out in a crowd.  But this grape juice is the life blood of Christ’s enemies.    This is the person astride the horse.  It means He is the warrior who HAS CONQUERED.

Rev 19:14  And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

Now look at the entourage by comparison.  Clean white bright raiment on white horses… the pure victorious army or “Host”.  It is an army but the only one who is looking like He’s seen battle is Their King.  It’s the oddest military act ever!

I am going to go out on a limb here and I may have a valid point and I may not.  We know from Paul’s writings that the remnant remaining at His coming are caught up to meet Him in the air and forever to be with Him. Moreover the raiment of the “bride” is the righteousness of saints, or rather, is Christ who is the righteousness of the saints.  Are we not instructed to “put on the Lord Jesus Christ”? I put that this army may very well be… us.  We the Body of Believers are also called the Bride who has made herself ready.  I am reminded of the concept of first the blade then the ear then the corn in the ear (Mk 4:28), or as John the Apostle put it children young men and fathers (1Jn 2:13).  Paul made mention that we to at some point become “a mature man to the measure of the stature of Christ”, for these reasons I suggest that we are the ARMY OF WITNESSES to the Mighty Deed about to be done.  For if you have been following along you will note that many of the white robed are already IN HEAVEN because they were Martyred Up. Think about it.

Rev 19:15  And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

In the first chapter of Revelation we see mention of the sharp sword that goes out of the mouth, and that is also the description of the Word of God. (Heb 4:12  For the word of God is living, and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and quick to discern the thoughts and intents of the heart.) (Isa 55:11  so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.)  In the case of Revelation this verse certainly applies; (Isa 11:4)  “but with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and decide with equity for the meek of the earth; and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth; and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.”

Consider this from God’s angle, whoever is on the opposing side out in that field of battle IS HIS ENEMY AND WICKED.

Rev 19:16  And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

This stained raiment of the Warrior who has conquered and on His thigh is a title that world rulers use.  King of kings and Lord of lords is the title given to the suzerain who has conquered the known world of his day. In this time of this kind of title you would have many people groups with headmen over them as leaders and those leaders might establish dynastic rule and bear an emblem or artifact that marked them out as a “king”. But if another comes and begins to absorb these little kingdoms and bring them “under one banner” whilst leaving them culturally intact with their “headman” or “king”, but owing fealty and homage and tribute to the one absorbing them under his banner, that man is said to be “King of kings”. Jesus is setting down His opposition and will rule ALL THE WORLD or the planet for one thousand years.  I think this eminently qualifies Him to bear THAT title by Earthly standards.

Rev 19:17  And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;

Rev 19:18  That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.

Rev 19:19  And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.

Here is the prophecy of this event. Eze 39:17  And thou, son of man, thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Speak unto the birds of every sort, and to every beast of the field, Assemble yourselves, and come; gather yourselves on every side to my sacrifice that I do sacrifice for you, even a great sacrifice upon the mountains of Israel, that ye may eat flesh and drink blood.

Eze 39:18  Ye shall eat the flesh of the mighty, and drink the blood of the princes of the earth, of rams, of lambs, and of goats, of bullocks, all of them fatlings of Bashan.

Eze 39:19  And ye shall eat fat till ye be full, and drink blood till ye be drunken, of my sacrifice which I have sacrificed for you.

Eze 39:20  And ye shall be filled at my table with horses and chariots, with mighty men, and with all men of war, saith the Lord Jehovah.

This really isn’t much of a battle.  He has the two trouble makers the Beast and the False Prophet… this is the first time we have a name for the second beast and how do I know this?  The words “that wrought miracles before him” stand out.  If you will recall,” Rev 13:11  And I saw another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like unto a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.

Rev 13:12  And he exerciseth all the authority of the first beast in his sight. And he maketh the earth and them dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose death-stroke was healed.

Rev 13:13  And he doeth great signs, that he should even make fire to come down out of heaven upon the earth in the sight of men.

Rev 13:14  And he deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by reason of the signs which it was given him to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast who hath the stroke of the sword and lived.

Rev 13:15  And it was given unto him to give breath to it, even to the image to the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as should not worship the image of the beast should be killed.

Rev 13:16  And he causeth all, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free and the bond, that there be given them a mark on their right hand, or upon their forehead;

Rev 13:17  and that no man should be able to buy or to sell, save he that hath the mark, even the name of the beast or the number of his name.

This we now see is called the False Prophet.  A prophet, any prophet is speaking for a deity.  Muhammad is considered the “prophet of God”, the God of the Muslims. Now, it is said that the God of the Muslim is not actually the God of the Old Testament, but I am not arguing that point.  A prophet is the spokesman for a god.  This god is false so his prophet is false also.  Now we understand who is who.

Rev 19:20  And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

Rev 19:21  And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

In classic battle theory, if you can strike down the head of the army that is opposing you, they will scatter and be demoralized before you.  Jesus, ever the consummate at whatever He does, takes out and casts into the lake the leadership which was influencing the opposition.  He then SPEAKS and they are slain.

But just as you have Father Son and Holy Spirit you also have Beast of the sea, Beast of the land and … The Dragon. The two beasts have served their part and are immediately cast into their eternal punishment. But you would think the Dragon would be joining them, but he’s not. Take a look at the next few verses.

Rev 20:1  And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand.

Rev 20:2  And he laid hold on the dragon, the old serpent, which is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years,

Rev 20:3  and cast him into the abyss, and shut it, and sealed it over him, that he should deceive the nations no more, until the thousand years should be finished: after this he must be loosed for a little time.

Now you see Jesus came and won the day and all the associated prophecies have been by now fulfilled. But this is one of two confrontations with the Dragon or should I say one of THREE.  You see when on Earth Jesus faced off with the Dragon while in flesh, in the wilderness. (Matt 4:1-11, Lk 4:2-13) Now the Dragon is bound over to be released in one thousand years to deceive a whole new set of people, or to test the loyalties of the end generation of that era.

Rev 20:4  And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus, and for the word of God, and such as worshipped not the beast, neither his image, and received not the mark upon their forehead and upon their hand; and they lived, and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

Here is what we call the inheritance reception as it were. The souls… of those beheaded for the testimony and those who neither worshipped the beast nor bore the mark.  Now stop right there.  Anyone telling you that the bearing of the mark and worship of the beast are separate needs to read this verse, it is that they worshipped not, AND had NO MARK.  Both these camps the dead who raised up and the living who remained are found here.  Somewhere along the line whatever the rapture is, has taken place.

Rev 20:5  The rest of the dead lived not until the thousand years should be finished. This is the first resurrection.

Rev 20:6  Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: over these the second death hath no power; but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

These are the Priest Kings of whom Jesus is the High Priest and King of kings over. Can you begin to get a picture of who we are and what we will do?  Consider that there is power in the second death.  For we have been told only to fear the One who can kill both body and soul…

Mat 10:28  And be not afraid of them that kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

The Sixth Trump

Rev 9:12 The first Woe is past: behold, there come yet two Woes hereafter.

Rev 9:13 And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the horns of the golden altar which is before God,
Rev 9:14 one saying to the sixth angel that had one trumpet, Loose the four angels that are bound at the great river Euphrates.
Rev 9:15 And the four angels were loosed, that had been prepared for the hour and day and month and year, that they should kill the third part of men.

Now there is no other mention of angels binding the river Euphrates in scripture, but their loosing causes one third of the global populace to be sacrificed. This is on top of the one quarter previously lost in the seals. When angels were bound to the river Euphrates is up for grabs as it doesn’t come up in scripture at all. It has been speculated that perhaps there was a race of humanity before Adam and Eve, in the time when the Anointed Cherub who covers was still a cherub. I don’t know and since it’s not in scripture it may not be for us to know. However look at how they kill off one third of the populace or of an army. My guess is very vague and it comes from this verse. Isa 54:16 Behold, I have created the smith that bloweth the fire of coals, and bringeth forth a weapon for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy. (Incidentally this may be where pagans see God as Zeus. Think about it. A smith that blows the fire of coals would have been Hephaestus.) But it is the concept of a “waster” These may be actual angels created for one purpose… to gather an immense armada of men to a war. These are 2 million soldiers on a battlefield. You see now why I theorize that the death toll may be of these men. However it can just as easily be that in loosing these angels they go to the four quarters of the earth and cause the loss of one third more of an already depleting populace.

Rev 9:16 And the number of the armies of the horsemen was twice ten thousand times ten thousand: I heard the number of them.

By the way in the times of John the apostle and before, the concept of one million was inconceivable. Several thousand was big and 2 or 3 hundred thousand was considered a vast army. One needs to keep in mind that most combat was close quarter or bow shot. But this isn’t all they used. In the Byzantine era the Greeks had a clinging water proof fire that was blsted through nozzles as it were. “Siphon”(s) is what they were called and it sprayed this liquid fire also known as nafta to others or naft as far as the forces of Saladin knew it. People who used this stuff and its equipment were actually highly trained. Might this be what John saw? Still and all, John is describing what he is seeing in a way that might make sense to the readers of his day. It is unclear to me whether or not this was used in John’s day.

Rev 9:17 And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates as of fire and of hyacinth and of brimstone: and the heads of lions; and out of their mouths proceedeth fire and smoke and brimstone.
Rev 9:18 By these three plagues was the third part of men killed, by the fire and the smoke and the brimstone, which proceeded out of their mouths.
Rev 9:19 For the power of the horses is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails are like unto serpents, and have heads; and with them they hurt.

At first glance with the English indication the possibility of multiple armies one would think this to be a localized matter, roughly three hundred thousand soldiers fall on some distant battle field somewhere, but you would be wrong.  In scripture if there is a war the armies are named, it’s always so and so against so and so and the armies clashed and there was blood and so and so’s army won the day.  But in this there is no named army it’s just a group of two million armored combatants and they are on a mission.  Also in scripture where there are battles the places are named.  So and so and so and so fought at such and such place and there was much blood and so and so’s army not only won the day but took the other guy’s lands. But this is not like that.  There are no other indicators but this massive array of men.  Now in a global populace of right now seven billion depleted already once and being steadily affected by all the goings on there are still a few billion souls out there…  and this massive army, and it is one army, or rather it’s one group on one mission, broken up into smaller groups that gives the appearance of multiple armies.  Now this takes on a much more ominous image.  Four angels over perhaps four groups heading our perhaps to the four quadrants of the Earth and the casualties will amount to one third the world populace.  Or it could be roughly three hundred thousand soldiers on a battle field.  Those who died were either immolated, died of smoke, inhalation or brimstone… which is classified as SULFER. Is it possible that a Grecian fire or a form of napalm could be deployed and it would have come from the mouth of the war “horses”. Once again I am taken back to the Byzantine era wherein Alexios emperor of the Byzantine era mounted these heads like unto lions on his naval armada ships and up at the front (bow) of the vessel he had the “Grecian Fire” machinery. Whatever was used as a boiler and a pressurization; then the mechanisms to feed the liquid up and out of the vessel via tubes of brass tucked into the open jaws of the “lion head” in order to fire the stream under pressure at oncoming boats. Today we might use a tank with napalm spraying technology…??? But on horseback? They also have…. Tails. They can hurt with their tails as well… or fire off the same stuff from the rear. The “tails” have “heads” or nozzles or firing mechanisms and they “hurt” or inflict casualties, as well.

Rev 9:20 And the rest of mankind, who were not killed with these plagues, repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship demons, and the idols of gold, and of silver, and of brass, and of stone, and of wood; which can neither see, nor hear, nor walk:
Rev 9:21 and they repented not of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.

Now once again there is much speculation as to the type of weapon used here or what is happening at this time. Is it localized or global? And if we are here are we prey as well? Can you see this as an “INDIGNATION”? Can you see us hiding out? Would you seriously want to come out at this moment from hiding? I wouldn’t. You might wonder how we would live in a time like this. It’s quite possible that God feeds us like He did the Israelites, bread and water.

Now this chapter appears to be a break in the vision as the word is given to John but there are lots of little things here.

Rev 10:1 And I saw another strong angel coming down out of heaven, arrayed with a cloud; and the rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire;
Rev 10:2 and he had in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left upon the earth;
Rev 10:3 and he cried with a great voice, as a lion roareth: and when he cried, the seven thunders uttered their voices.
Rev 10:4 And when the seven thunders uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying, Seal up the things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not.

Once again we have a seal up… like Daniel… (Dan 12:7 And I heard the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and a half; and when they have made an end of breaking in pieces the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.

Dan 12:8 And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my lord, what shall be the issue of these things?
Dan 12:9 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel; for the words are shut up and sealed till the time of the end. )

Rev 10:5 And the angel that I saw standing upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his right hand to heaven,
Rev 10:6 and sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created the heaven and the things that are therein, and the earth and the things that are therein, and the sea and the things that are therein, that there shall be delay no longer:
Rev 10:7 but in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound, then is finished the mystery of God, according to the good tidings which he declared to his servants the prophets.

Now this is going to be an announcement that goes with Revelation 11:5.

Rev 10:8 And the voice which I heard from heaven, I heard it again speaking with me, and saying, Go, take the book which is open in the hand of the angel that standeth upon the sea and upon the earth.
Rev 10:9 And I went unto the angel, saying unto him that he should give me the little book. And he saith unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but in thy mouth it shall be sweet as honey.
Rev 10:10 And I took the little book out of the angel’s hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and when I had eaten it, my belly was made bitter.
Rev 10:11 And they say unto me, Thou must prophesy again over many peoples and nations and tongues and kings.

This is quite possibly so that he would remember the vision and be able to have it scribed properly. John was also being told he would be leaving Patmos. The only other prophet to ever have this happen was Ezekiel (3:1-3) similarly Ezekiel was told he would go and preach to the nation of Israel in the midst of the Babylonian Diaspora.

Rev 11:1 And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and one said, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein.
Rev 11:2 And the court which is without the temple leave without, and measure it not; for it hath been given unto the nations: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.

Many people refer to this as Ezekiel’s temple. From Ezek 40:1 -47:12 The dimensions are very specific and one could quite possibly build a temple from it. There is only one change here… no outer court. Many have said that this change makes it possible for this Temple pattern and the Al Aqsa Mosque to exist side by side. You are entitled to your opinions on this but suffice it to say there will be a place of worship that is ultimately defiled.

In Daniel there is reference to a Temple with moat built in troublesome times.  Jeremiah also mentions a rebuilding of Temple. These are not the same. Jeremiah’s little Temple from the King’s allotment and budget as it were was built in the days of Zerubbabel. Daniel’s Temple seems to be much more than this.  I put to you that in the Roman occupation, an exceeding troublesome time; Herod the Great had a second “façade” built over the smaller Second Temple thus enlarging it and causing it to take on a grandeur that rivaled that of Solomon.  This may the Temple to which Daniel refers.  This is because for the most part, as we will see in the post called Timing, Daniel is looking down a corridor of time to the day of Jesus Christ. John’s Temple cannot be Herod’s for by the time of the writing of his book, I believe, the Second Temple was already burned.  If no then it was already in place. Moreover Jesus cleared out what was called Herod’s Bazaar, so there was an outer court of the Gentiles.  This leaves only one Temple, the one in Ezekiel that DOES NOT have an outer court.

Rev 11:3 And I will give unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.
Rev 11:4 These are the two olive trees and the two candlesticks, standing before the Lord of the earth.

This is a direct reference to Zechariah’s vision. Zec 4:12 And I answered the second time, and said unto him, What are these two olive-branches, which are beside the two golden spouts, that empty the golden oil out of themselves?
Zec 4:13 And he answered me and said, Knowest thou not what these are? And I said, No, my lord.
Zec 4:14 Then said he, These are the two anointed ones, that stand by the Lord of the whole earth.

There is, it would seem, no other reference this specific in all of scripture but these two. When I looked up this verse in the KJV+ which uses the Strongs number system I found that the word oil might have been added… though the word for golden does indicate oil. But it more strictly means shimmer or golden color … or… shekinah glory. What if our witnesses are cloaked in the Glory of the LORD and He manifests fire defenses for them to “devour” their enemies or those who might try to manhandle them to shut them up. They can add to the devastation by striking the planet with whatever plague they like as often as they like… and they are testifying for 1260 days. (Please don’t think in terms of a day is as a thousand years with the LORD, the planet itself wouldn’t survive an assault lasting that long.)

Rev 11:5 And if any man desireth to hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth and devoureth their enemies; and if any man shall desire to hurt them, in this manner must he be killed.
Rev 11:6 These have the power to shut the heaven, that it rain not during the days of their prophecy: and they have power over the waters to turn them into blood, and to smite the earth with every plague, as often as they shall desire.
Rev 11:7 And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that cometh up out of the abyss shall make war with them, and overcome them, and kill them.

Wait… Abaddon has a war with the Two Marytyrs? What other beast would rise from the pit? Certainly not the one in Revelation 13. Is Apollyon a real person or … a really big bug. Until it happens we can only speculate but it would appear that the venom of this tail has a specific mark… the martyrs… Meanwhile people are dealing with a ruined ecosystem and global chaos which is ensuing. You have to see that society is still here in the midst of all this!

Rev 11:8 And their dead bodies lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified.

Jerusalem is our city and here is the reference. Jer 23:14  In the prophets of Jerusalem also I have seen a horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies; and they strengthen the hands of evil-doers, so that none doth return from his wickedness: they are all of them become unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah.
Rev 11:9 And from among the peoples and tribes and tongues and nations do men look upon their dead bodies three days and a half, and suffer not their dead bodies to be laid in a tomb.
Rev 11:10 And they that dwell on the earth rejoice over them, and make merry; and they shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwell on the earth.

Such was the rhetoric of these two witnesses that the whole world was having a Christmas or at least a Yule tide and giving gifts to each other…. In that they could have any to give. It is amazing to me that there is a civilization left at this point and a economy able to allow people to give gifts!

Rev 11:11 And after the three days and a half the breath of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them that beheld them.
Rev 11:12 And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they went up into heaven in the cloud; and their enemies beheld them.

Two witnesses or MARTYRS who will prophesy for and exact amount of time and be killed and resurrected and … caught up? Or is this more in line with the way Elijah left the Earth?

Rev 11:13 And in that hour there was a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell; and there were killed in the earthquake seven thousand persons: and the rest were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.

Here is the massive quake and its death toll is specific.

Rev 11:14 The second Woe is past: behold, the third Woe cometh quickly.
